AI Invisibility Test: six ad concepts

Six different production approaches, three executions each. Every frame below was generated in Google AI Studio and reviewed. Nothing here is final motion yet, these are the boards you kill or green light before we spend on video.

What we are selling

The free test at dv8web.com/ai-invisibility-test asks GPT-5, Claude and Gemini, live, the exact question the customer is about to type, and shows the owner whether he got named or his competitor did.

So the emotional job of every ad here is the same, and it is not education. It is the specific sting of watching a machine recommend the guy down the road by name while you are standing there with your lights on.

The rule on the look

No faces anywhere in the set. Every human in these frames is hands, forearms or the back of a head, because that is precisely where AI generation stops giving itself away. The rest is screens, streets and objects, which render genuinely photoreal.

1

The Answer

Screen native. We watch a real customer question get answered, and the answer names three businesses that are not you. The entire ad is the interface and the cursor.

Why it will not read as AI

Nothing in frame can look fake, because everything in frame is a screen, a desk and a hand. This is the most literal translation of what the tool actually does.

Format

6 to 9 seconds. Works silently, which is how 85% of the feed watches.

Night desk, screen macro

ON SCREEN: best coffee shop in Lake Park
ANSWER STREAMS IN: 1. The Daily Bean 2. Riverside Books 3. Oak Street Market

END CARD: Three names. None of them yours.

Note. Strongest of the three. The off-axis screen shot and the moiré are what sell it as real.

ON SCREEN: best plumber near me

END CARD: Your customer already asked. You already lost.

Note. Trade specific. Swap the bench for a salon station, a clinic desk or a truck dash and this becomes six ads from one setup.

Note. The only frame with a person in it, and we never see a face. That is deliberate.

2

The Dare

Pure typography. No imagery at all. We tell the viewer to go and check for themselves, then stop talking.

Why it will not read as AI

There is no photography to scrutinise, so there is nothing to look AI generated. It is also the only concept where the viewer performs the ad themselves.

Format

4 to 6 seconds. Cheapest to produce, likely the highest completion rate, and the easiest to run 10 variants of.

Black card, one line
2A

Black card, one line

GO AHEAD. ASK IT ABOUT YOUR INDUSTRY.

Then, small: Most owners only do this once.

Note. White version for the light half of the feed. Same idea, opposite polarity, doubles your creative without new production.

Phone held against a real street

Phone held against a real street

ON SCREEN: best plumber near me

VO or caption: Everyone on this street is in that answer. Are you?

Note. Bridges The Dare and Dark Storefront. Good as the hybrid if you only want to run one line of creative.

3

Dark Storefront

A real street where every business is lit except one. That one is open, trading, door propped, lights on inside. Its sign is simply blank.

Why it will not read as AI

Architecture and streets are where AI rendering is genuinely photoreal. No faces, no hands, no anatomy to give it away. This is the most beautiful of the six and the most brand building.

Format

8 to 12 seconds, slow dolly. This is the one you put budget behind.

Blue hour, the blank sign
3A

Blue hour, the blank sign

Slow dolly past the lit signs, settling on the blank one.

You are open. Your lights are on. Your reviews are good.
AI still cannot see you.
dv8web.com

Note. Note the detail that makes it work: the door is open and warm light spills out. He is not closed. He is invisible. Do not let anyone add a CLOSED sign.

Top down, the void in the light
3B

Top down, the void in the light

Every business on this block shows up in AI answers.
One does not.

Note. Most graphic and most thumb stopping of the three. Reads instantly at feed size, which matters more than beauty.

Daylight, the erased shopfront
3C

Daylight, the erased shopfront

Your competitors are in the answer. You have been edited out of it.

Note. The deadpan one. Middle shop rendered as a flat grey blank. Strongest if we push the erasure further in a revision.

4

Hands and a Phone

The lost customer, told entirely in hands, objects and details. A question at night, keys picked up, a competitor's door opening. We never see a face.

Why it will not read as AI

This is how you get a human into an AI generated ad without the uncanny tell. Hands, forearms and shoulders render beautifully. Faces do not. So we simply never cut to one.

Format

10 to 15 seconds, three shots. The closest thing here to a real commercial.

The question, 9pm

SHOT 2. A hand picks up car keys. The phone beside them shows a map pin already dropped.

Note. The payoff. Strongest single frame in the entire set.

5

The Front Door Moved

Object led. A phone book slams shut. A printed results page chars and curls. A cursor blinks in the dark. Three eras, three objects, no explanation needed.

Why it will not read as AI

Macro product lighting on physical objects is the single most reliable thing AI renders. It also reframes the pitch from scary to inevitable, which sells better to owners over 45.

Format

8 to 10 seconds. Three hard cuts on the beat.

You survived this one.

Note. Hard raking light on black. The dust burst is what makes it feel shot rather than rendered.

Note. Middle beat. Keep the ember line moving, it carries the cut.

Note. Nearly empty frame after two busy ones. The silence is the point. This is the best closing frame in the set.

6

The Diagnostic

Treats it as a lab result, because it is one. Clinical, cold, no jokes. A needle pinned at zero. A card stamped INVISIBLE. A scan with nothing on it.

Why it will not read as AI

Every other concept sells a feeling. This one sells the test itself, which is the actual conversion event. Expect the lowest engagement rate and the highest click through rate of the six.

Format

5 to 7 seconds. Deliberately unpleasant. Do not warm it up.

Note. Quietest and most unsettling. Works with zero motion, so it is also a strong single image post.

What I would do next

  1. Kill three of the six. My picks to carry forward are 3 Dark Storefront for brand, 4 Hands and a Phone for the story, and 2 The Dare as the cheap volume workhorse. 1 and 5 are strong but overlap with 3 and 4. 6 is the one to test against them on click through, not on engagement.
  2. Animate only the winners. These stills become first frames in Veo. 3A and 4C are both single move shots, which is where AI video is most convincing. Anything needing a cut we shoot as separate generations and cut ourselves.
  3. Run 2 The Dare first. It is the cheapest, it needs no motion at all, and the pixel is still cold on this offer, so we want volume and cheap clicks before we ask it to optimise for anything.
  4. Point every one of them at the free test, not at the homepage. The test is the conversion event and it already carries the Meta pixel.
Two things to decide before this runs

The OpenAI mark in 1A. That frame renders a recognisable ChatGPT logo. Meta will usually serve it, but using another company's mark in paid creative is a risk that is entirely avoidable. If we keep concept 1, I would regenerate it with a neutral unbranded chat interface and let the copy say ChatGPT instead.

The number in 6B. The line says 31 of 40 local businesses came back invisible. We have not run that sample yet. Either we run it for real and use the true number, or that execution changes to a line that claims nothing.
